Glidden Will Run for 8th Ward Re-election

Dear Friends:

I am excited to announce my campaign for re-election as Minneapolis City Councilmember for the Eighth Ward. Local government – a partnership between elected officials and residents they serve – is an incredible place where creative change can happen.

City decisions directly (and quickly) impact people’s lives, from how our recycling is picked up to what kind of business can locate on the neighborhood corner. I ask for your support to continue my work to inspire creative change as Eighth Ward Councilmember.

From helping lead efforts to reform the Minneapolis pension system, to spearheading the city-wide reading program One Minneapolis One Read, to working to enhance our small business environment at 38th and Chicago, to fighting for environmental and social justice, I have been an active, hands-on partner, building coalitions to support and drive change.

I am passionate about our beautiful Minneapolis, combining policy-making with grassroots activism, and positioning our city to best serve our diverse Minneapolis residents today and in future generations.

If you would like to be involved in our campaign, please contact me at elizabeth@elizabethglidden.com.

Community Leadership Awards

Every time I read articles like this I am inspired and so proud of our state and the people who choose to call it home. Thank you to the many people and organizations who stepped up to the plate, with some very special leadership. On the night that House Republicans voted to place an amendment.

Banks Reach Federal Settlement Over Foreclosure Practices

US Bank, Wells Fargo and 6 other banks reached a settlement with the federal government over their foreclosure practices. The 8 banks will pay out $8.5 billion. $3.3B to borrowers and $5.2B in other assistance. I have lots of questions about whether or not this settlement is in the best interests of the affected homeowners.
