January – July 2013
Please join your neighbors and friends at Butter Bakery Cafe’s beautiful new location at 3700 Nicollet for Elizabeth’s community campaign kickoff. Butter Bakery Cafe is located at Nicollet Square, which provides supportive housing for youth and young adults who have experienced homelessness. As the employment partner to Nicollet Square, Butter offers apprenticeship positions to Nicollet Square residents.
All are welcome at this event! Drinks, snacks, and great conversation? Sounds like a fun January night!
Get Involved – Attend your Precinct Caucus! Tuesday, April 16th is the Minneapolis DFL Precinct Caucus Night. Registration begins at 6:30 pm, and caucuses convene at 7 pm. If you live in precincts 8-1, 8-2, 8-6 or 8-7 (Kingfield and Lyndale neighborhoods) your precinct caucus location is Lyndale Community School, 312 W 34th St. If you live in precincts 8-3, 8-4, 8-5 or 8-8 (part of Central, Bryant, Regina, Field, and Bancroft neighborhoods), your precinct caucus location is St Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave S.
The DFL Party hosts precinct caucuses and conventions to endorse candidates, set the issues the Party will stand for, and elect party leaders. This is a great way to meet neighbors and get involved in an influential process that helps determine who represents us in elected office.
Please caucus for Elizabeth and become a delegate to the Eighth Ward convention! Attending your precinct caucus is the first step to becoming a delegate to the Eighth Ward Convention (endorsing a City Council candidate for Ward 8) and to the City DFL Convention (endorsing candidates for Mayor, Park Board and Board of Estimate and Taxation).
More information available on the Minneapolis DFL website.
Save the date! The Eighth Ward DFL Convention will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Washburn High School, 9:30 am. For more information check with the Minneapolis DFL.
